BOBE WADE WHIMISCAL ART & WOODEN ARTWORK
Whimsical Art is a colorful and playful style of art that conveys a creative and carefree attitude. The very definition of ‘whimsical’ is ‘playfully quaint or fanciful, especially in an appealing and amusing way’. Whimsical art is usually created to uplift the onlooker and ignite in them a childlike imagination that whisks you away to another realm. Most whimsical art characters are fairies, elves, trolls, pixies, gnomes or any other mythical creature depicted in fairy tales throughout the years.
Not all whimsical art is bright and childlike. There is a darker and more shadowy side to whimsical art that gives it a more adult undertone. It certainly is an art form in which the artist can be completely free of rules and allow their imaginations run wild. The common theme in whimsical artwork is that the characters or backdrop is surreal and quirky, taking the person viewing the art to another place, whether it be nightmarish or daydream like.

Note from the artist Bob Wade: ” Whether commercial or fine, all art has a potential for excellence that is hard to conceal. To strive for that is my goal. To get public attention it may be necessary to reinvent gravity with a look so startling it insists the viewer keep on looking. This may be mere novelty or a genuine attempt to show something never before seen on this earth. Either way, the barre is set higher and the viewer benefits. This is what I aspire to. Even a group of lowly table tops can constitute a horizontal art show. “
